Hong Kong – is my addiction

I entered a travel competition a few months ago – had to write 1,000 words on somewhere you have been inspired to visit – without regrets. Hong Kong fitted me!  And there will be a few more stories about my travels to Hong Kong and surrounding territories. Thanks to Lisa and her hard working team @ We Said Go Travel.com for publishing – they have some great travel stories from writers around the globe on their facebook page.

Some very simple Hawaiian delights

A couple of my Hawaii favourites

A sample of the simple and inexpensive, delightful highlights of my (recent) time in Hawaii.

If  you have not (yet) seen my instagram photos of the “that’s gold moment when I discovered these local pineapples – I am posting for posterity – the Maui Gold pineapples – as the MOST DELICIOUS pineapples I have ever tasted and this is coming from a Queenslander, (for international readers, Queensland is known as the “pineapple” state).  My boys became tired of my exclamations of delight – every time I cut up another of those gold jems.  Unless you have tasted one, I guess you will never know ………..

Pineapples - worth the trip to Hawaii

Maui Golds – what can I say?

Hawaii – with three boys (relaxing holiday? not quite)

Hawaii – relax – I wish!

Aloha,

Yesterday was a 9.5 hour flight from Honolulu into Brissy around 4pm – we lost most of our Wednesday night and Thursday (which totally confused the boys) but after a solid night’s sleep I am feeling rested and now enjoying a beautiful Friday – ANZAC day a very special day of rememberance here in Australia.

I survived – 5 days on Maui and 7 on Oahu – and there are stories to come!  I was thinking (optimistically) I would have time to write a few blog posts when over there – but noooooo – too busy checking out the sights and stopping the fights among my delightful three sons!  Oh and slipping in a few quiet moments with the occasional glass of wine and a couple of pages of my book – there was some relaxation.

yes – we all loved Waikiki!

Mahalo Hawaii – thanks for all we enjoyed and wishing there was more time to do what we didn’t get to see!
