One night in Singapore’s Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel is NOT enough – but long enough for me to write a review on it. Please take a look.

The global Rydges Hotels’ PR brief, describe their Australian brand of Hotels as possessing “a true Australian personality.”
If QUIRKY is an accurate adjective fitting an atypical Australian personality, then the QT Gold Coast, located in the heart of Surfer’s Paradise, has more than met its PR brief.
Attending the recent ProBloggers Conference 2013, at the QT Hotel (#PBEVENT on Twitter), I can vouch this QT Hotel, presented not only a fantastic venue for conference attendees, but also provided a near five star accommodation experience.
QT’s web site reveals this Hotel offers something “unique and un-traditional.” A retro vibe leaps out as you enter the lift from the basement car-park. Cleverly positioning various holograms on the walls of the in-house lifts, turns each usually boring lift ride into a unique experience.

At a conference with 450 participants, using two of the conference rooms and an informal lounge, we never felt on top of each other. The food offered between conference sessions was out of this world. Each break we anticipated superior food treats and the QT delivered. Yes we were in a room full of social media addicts, but I saw instagram and twitter go into over-drive as photos and tweets of the QT snacks were posted eagerly on social-media.
Of the 297 guest rooms, mine was a “QT King Ocean View.” The view from my room was not mere ocean glimpses – it was a spectacular 180 degree outlook of the Pacific Ocean.
Quirkiness in the room came in full play – including the silk boxing style gowns and the hand made lemonade making equipment.
But this was not quirky-overstated – it was quirky-fun!
Close the door of my room, you could NOT hear any hallway or neighbour noises. I admit I was on the 19th floor – so maybe a little above the street noise? But quiet is a HUGE factor in rating my Hotel stay.
But maybe more important than the noise factor is the bed, the bed ……..
My true test of a Hotel room’s star quality lies in the bed. This generous sized king was one of the most comfortable hotel mattresses I have ever laid my weary body on.
I wished I booked two nights at the QT. A conference schedule barely permits much time in your room or the chance to indulge in the Hotel’s facilities. I will be back for another quirky QT experience – maybe this time in a mountain river view room.
