A little about Jenn Jay …….
Not wanting to categorise myself but I’m many “things.” In no particular order I’m:
- a mum
- a sister
- a daughter
- a writer
- a music lover
- dis-organised (trying hard to improve on that)
- often 10 mins late
- Miss Consumer Affairs
- curious
- a (really) good listener
- always interested
- someone who goes to bed way too late!
That will do, in case I lose you to too many bullet points.
Over the last couple of years my writing has become a little more than just a hobby. Before that I worked in Human Resources as a Manager, Adviser, Trainer and Consultant. I left the Corporate world to raise my kids and pursue my writing passion.
My interest in writing and the collection of written words began a few decades ago. As a little tacker, my mother tells me, whenever I was asked what I wanted to do when I grew up, my response was always: “a journalist.” Seems I was distracted from that career path for a wee while. But life is short. So with an attitude, there is no better time for change than the present, I left my paid part-time job and returned to University to study again.
Enrolling in a few journalism and creative writing subjects, helped stimulate the grey matter and ignite my creative juices. At Uni, I met people happily pursuing their individual passions. I became hooked into the possibility of where writing could take me. I’m also determined to never ask wonder at the end of my life, “if I could have done more to follow my dream?”

Hi Dorothy – I feel you are very right in that – writing does seem to feed your soul – maybe not line the pockets – but its not always about the money! Take care, Jenn.
